Sally Jaeckle

Currently the Head of Early Years Services in Bristol. She has previously worked as an early years’ teacher and head teacher, both in the United States and the UK, a lecturer in early childhood studies in Further and Higher Education and as an Early Years Adviser. Between 2003 and 2010 Sally was the National Strategies Senior Regional Adviser for Early Years in the South West and in this role contributed to the development of the Early Years Foundation Stage statutory guidance and supporting resources. She supported the implementation of the Early Years Foundation Stage nationally, providing peer support to Early Years strategic leads in Local Authorities across the country. Sally has had a lifelong commitment to improving the quality of provision for children from birth to five and to establishing the importance of creative thinking and creative approaches to learning for young children and early years practitioners. She is passionate about working in partnership with colleagues in health, education and social care to develop integrated services that make sense to families and give every child a good start in life, particularly those facing the greatest challenges. Sally was awarded an OBE for services to Early Education in 2015.
