Shada is Chair of Feed the Homeless (FTH), a grassroots, volunteer-run charity providing hot, nutritious food to Bristol’s most vulnerable people every week, while championing the smart use of surplus produce and local food networks.

Born in Newport to Pakistani immigrant parents, Shada grew up in a hardworking household where money was tight but meals were always cooked from scratch and shared around a big table with three siblings. Cooking became a passion early on, and by her teens Shada was the family’s chef — a role that sparked a lifelong connection between food, care, and community. Moving to Bristol opened the door to activism, as Shada became increasingly aware of social injustice both locally and globally. She’s volunteered with FTH since 2016 and now leads the charity alongside running smaller initiatives such as coordinating Ramadan food packs for those in need in 2026 and working in financial services regulatory compliance.

Shada is a passionate advocate for grassroots, community-led approaches to tackling food insecurity, and brings both lived experience and hands-on commitment to Feeding Bristol’s mission of achieving food justice for all.
